When using the tablet PC sometimes you are faced with a nasty situation, in particular, buttons, connectors and ports tend to break-off. In this review, we will work with Chinese tablet GoClever TAB A103 with broken-off power button and mini-USB port. The photo below shows the parameters given by the manufacturer:

The parameters given by the manufacturer

Basically, not bad for the price. Now, let's start the operation. First, unscrew the two screws on the side of the tablet.

The side of the panel

(On the side of the panel you can see a broken-off mini-USB port, now it hangs inside and there a risk of short-circuit)

Inside

Inside we see the same thing as in Ainol Novo 7 Elf (the Chinese didn't even bother to hide crucial similarities and put the same battery as in Ainol Novo 7 Elf. According to the specifications the battery should be: Li-Polymer 5000 mAh, notice that the size of the screen on GoClever is 10,1 and not 7 inches).

Then unscrew the screws that secure the motherboard.

Before disconnecting the matrix loops and touch-screen also disconnect the power supply (Chinese made everything simple - the battery cables are soldered directly to the board). Be sure to check the polarity, highlight it with a marker on the board, to avoid fatal mistakes when soldering everything back.

Disconnect the power supply

Now disconnect all the cables from the motherboard.

Inside we have found the broken-off port and the power button and I think you will be able to solder it back in place.

I will omit the soldering process (for more information soldering for beginners), the main things is to thoroughly clean the site and apply flux. Bellow you can see the end-result of this soldering:

You can begin with the re-assembly (do everything in reversed order and do not forget to solder the battery) then turn the device on and pray...

GoClever TAB A103

Voila!

Conclusion

Important notice: do not repair and modify a device with warranty. In principle this tutorial shows how to fix small parts even on such a small device like tablet PC.
