How to replace Home button in iPhone 4/4S

In order to replace the button you have to disassemble almost the entire phone.
Step 1. Switch to silent mode:
Step 2. Remove the pentalobe screws from the bottom end of the phone:
Step 3. Remove the cover by pushing it forward:
Step 4. Gently remove the back cover from the cellphone body:
Step 5. Remove the screw by the lower left corner of the battery:
Step 6. Using plastic instrument, remove the battery from the cellphone body:
Step 7. Pull the strip to recover the battery:
Step 8. Next in line is the SIM card, remove it using a paper clip, included with the phone box:
Step 9. Remove 2 screws located in the middle left from the battery:
Step 10. Using plastic instrument, force open the flat cables on the left:
Step 11. Now, carefully remove the cable:
Step 12. Using the same instrument open the cap at the base of the flat cable:
Step 13. Remove the screw in the lower left corner of the phone:
Step 14. Remove the cap located in the top part of the phone:
Step 15. And one more, but gently:
Step 16. Remove white protective rivet:
Step 17. Take off the insulation from boards and contacts:
Step 18. We see a bolt that needs to be unscrewed/removed:
Step 19. Remove the side board:
Step 20. In the upper right corner of the phone (when viewed from the rear side) we unscrew the bolt:
Step 21. Remove the bottom cap:
Step 22. Remove the screws shown in the photo:
Step 23. Now, remove the screws that secure the antenna to the phone:
Step 24. Time to remove the corner screws:
Step 25. And another one in the other corner:
Step 26. Remove side screws on the other side:
Step 27. Remove the front bezel starting from the upper right corner:
Step 28. Disconnect the bezel from the body with a smooth but firm motion:
Step 29. So we are holding a phone or, at least, what's left of it:
Step 30. Now all you have to do is to disconnect the Home button, start the process from the back side of the phone:
Step 31. Using tweezers disconnect the button on the rear side of the phone:
Step 32. That's it, the button is in your grasp:
To replace this junk with a new button and reassemble the phone back - follow all the steps in the reverse order.
